On September 27th, someone brought Holland to a drop-in shelter. The state she was in was terrible. The dog was malnourished to the point where her fur was matted and she feared for her life. But, help arrived in the form of the Trio Animal Foundation.

They took in the dog and immediately began treatment for her injuries. The first step was to untangle the fur from its mats. The process was not simple.

Holland was anesthetized for a surgical groom at the vet to ensure his safety. The team was relieved to learn that Holland’s only serious health concern was a skin problem that left her with bruises, wounds, and splits all over her body.
